Pre/Post Visit

Dr. Wasser seeks to provide the highest quality of care and personal attention to each family with whom he works. He believes that participating in your family's Simcha (celebration) is an honor and privilege which requires his undivided attention. As such, he distinguishes himself amongst Mohelim by arranging both pre and post Brit visitation

The pre-Brit visit typically occurs at the celebrant's home after Mom and baby have returned home from the hospital. Meeting in this comfortable and relaxed setting a number of days before the ceremony takes place, allows the Cantor and the family to get to know one and other and review a number of important details.

During this visit, Wasser reviews all of the specifics and needs for the Brit service and, through detailed discussion with Mom and Dad, he helps the proud parents designate honors for the upcoming ceremony, often to both relatives and friends. It is important to the Cantor to understand the make-up, backgrounds and dynamics of your family so that the service will be conducted in the most appropriate and spiritually uplifting manner. At this pre-Brit visit Dr. Wasser often assists families in choosing a meaningful and contemporary Hebrew name that the child will carry proudly throughout his life as an integral part of his Jewish identity.

Additionally the Cantor will examine the baby and review any and all details of the surgical procedure with the family. Due to his expert training, Dr. Wasser comments that "most families are surprised to find out that the surgery itself is performed in less than thirty seconds!" At this time he offers a detailed explanation of what to expect to see during the healing process.

After the Brit takes place the Cantor and family arrange a mutually convenient time for a brief post-Brit visit. During this visit the Cantor reviews the details of post-care and allows the parents to ask any follow-up questions while being assured that their baby is fully taken care of. Finally, during this visit Wasser typically provides the family with all of the paperwork involved in the Brit including a beautiful baby naming certificate.
